How we measured cost
We bought rotating mobile traffic from each of 11 providers on regular terms and ran the same tests through all of them on 24–27 October 2026: about 63,000 requests per provider.
- Cost per Successful Request. We read the traffic counter in each provider's dashboard on 28 October 2026, after the test ended. Cost per Successful Request = price per GB × GB used ÷ successful requests of all our tests (infrastructure, Google and Instagram, sticky checks, TCP fingerprint). 1 GB = 1,000 MB. We report it per 1,000 requests.
- Price per GB. The regular price of the smallest mobile package on the provider's website, without promo codes or VAT. SOAX prices by country tier ($5, $4 and $2 per GB); the price shown is what our test actually cost per GB.
Limits
- Counters differ. Each provider counts traffic in its own way (download and upload, service bytes, 1,000 or 1,024 MB in a GB). With the same load the counters showed 873–1,020 MB, and Floppydata's 750 MB; we asked the Floppydata team what its counter includes.
- Small requests. Our requests were light (a Cloudflare trace, a Google results page, an Instagram profile), so cost follows the price per GB almost directly. Heavier pages cost more per request at every provider.
- Prices change. Prices and packages are as listed on 23–26 October 2026.
- Raw data and scripts. The anonymized request logs, the test scripts and the results workbook are on GitHub, so every number here can be recomputed.
