How to Manage Multiple Social Media Accounts for Business Using a Proxy

How to Manage Multiple Social Media Accounts for Business Using a Proxy

84% of customers use social media to research a business before a purchase. This makes having a social media presence crucial for your business.

In 2025, the Facebook and Instagram accounts of businesses were wrongfully banned. These bans were due to a breach of community guidelines.

Unfortunately, these businesses can’t appeal the ban, losing years of hard work.

Multi-accounting on social media for your business avoids this challenge. However, running multiple social media accounts is risky. A suspicious activity flag comes when you least expect it.

These social media platforms have algorithms that track our every move. Your IP address, devices, and more are known to them.

Using Floppydata proxies and specialized browsers like Gologin and 1Browser, my business operates multiple social media accounts across different platforms.

In this guide, I will reveal how I achieved this feat.

Running Multiple Social Media Accounts for Business Using Proxies – Step-by-Step Guide

Still unsure how to manage multiple social media accounts for business? Floppydata proxies proved to be the safest and most convenient approach for operating many social media accounts for business.

By following these steps, I use the duo of Floppydata proxies and the Gologin browser app to manage multiple social media accounts for my businesses:

1. Create a Floppydata Account

Floppydata sign up page

I signed up for a Floppydata account by registering on the website.

You can register using an email address or connect your Google account.

2. Choose a Proxy Plan

Floppydata - choose a proxy plan

Your choice of a proxy plan depends on the social media platforms you use. After testing all the proxies, I discovered that Floppydata mobile and residential proxies are the safest for most social media platforms.

3. Create Proxy Pool

Floppydata - create proxy pool

Next, I created a proxy pool. Floppydata proxies exist in pools. This allows for easy switching of IPs.

I noticed that social media platforms failed to flag my multiple accounts since the proxies were rotated.

  • Naming – Floppydata allows you to name each proxy pool. I found this particularly helpful as it makes it easy to track each pool.

As you create proxy pools, it can become difficult to tell which you’re using for what social media profiles.

I like to choose tier 1 countries like the United Kingdom, Canada, and Sweden, as the marketing dividends are always worth the effort for my business.

  • Session Type – IPs in the Floppydata proxy pool are rotated based on the rate you choose here.

I find the ‘Every 15 minutes’ session type works well in keeping my different social media accounts safe.

  • Protocol – Floppydata proxies differ in the connections used to shield your multiple social media profiles from scrutiny.

You can choose between SOCKS5, HTTP, and HTTPS. I always opt for SOCKS5 as it’s more versatile than the others.

  • Proxy Quantities – This refers to the Floppydata proxies in a pool.

You have six options to choose from: 1, 5, 10, 30, 50, and 100. I often settle for 5 or 10.

After altering my Floppydata proxy preferences to my taste, I tap the ‘Create Proxy Pool’ button to generate the proxy pool.

  • Config Status

After creating the proxy pool, the Config Status captures all your preferences. I like that I could easily add proxies by clicking the ‘Add’ button.

4. Check Proxy

With the proxy pool now live, I can check the status of the proxies.

I do this by clicking the ‘Check proxy’ button.

This will reveal the location and IP address for that proxy.

5. Copy Proxy

Next, you copy the proxy details. The Proxies category holds the details of all the proxies in the Floppydata proxy pool.

I do use the ‘Copy’ button to get the proxy credentials for a specific proxy.

You can choose to download the entire list of proxies and their details as a text file.

Or you click the ‘Copy Proxy List’ to get the credentials in your device’s clipboard. The proxy details have to be applied to your browser settings.

6. Browser Configuration

To use the Floppydata proxy, you need to apply it to your browser.

While you can use any browser, anti-detect browsers like Gologin and 1Browser are more suited for the task.

  • Download and Install
Visit the Gologin website to download the anti-detect browser. I chose Gologin since it works smoothly with Floppydata proxies.
You are free to download and install a different anti-detect browser like 1Browser.
With the download complete, I install the browser.
  • Launch Browser
Once installation is complete, I open the app. I create a Gologin account by submitting my email address. You can choose to register an account using the ‘Continue with Google’ route.
  • Setting up a browser profile
After creating a Gologin account, I set up a browser profile. Remember, it’s the specialized browser profiles that make anti-detect browsers like Gologin perfect for the job

Gologin add profile

I create the browser profile by clicking the ‘+’ button.

  • Gologin Browser Profile Modification

Gologin profile settings

The browser profile is defined by its settings. I click the ‘Settings’ button to modify the browser profile settings.

  • Browser Profile Name

The browser profile name helps eliminate confusion during use. I always opt for a name that ensures I can keep track of each social media account.

  • Proxy

This is where I submit the copied Floppydata proxy details.

I click the ‘paste proxies’ symbol to submit the proxy details. Once done, the browser profile’s digital fingerprint changes

From the geolocation to the timezone, everything is adjusted to match the IP address of the submitted proxy.

Gologin - Facebook profile

Armed with the recently activated Gologin browser profile, I operate the social media accounts of my business. I tend to use one Gologin browser profile for one Facebook account, Instagram account, and similar.

To manage more accounts, I create more browser profiles and add fresh Floppydata proxies.

Why Businesses Have Multiple Social Media Accounts

Every business needs multiple accounts across social media platforms. With these entities relying on AI for many things, multi-accounting is a necessity.

Here are reasons why your business should have multiple social media accounts:

  • Maximum reach
Social media platforms track the IP address of your business social accounts. They use this data to limit the reach of your content to audiences within your geographical location.
With multiple social media accounts powered by Floppydata proxies, you can reach audiences outside the location of your business. This is possible since these platforms can’t differentiate the proxies from the local populace.
  • Market research
To understand the sort of content that drives engagement, your business needs adequate consumer data. Multiple social media accounts enable your business to identify what the market needs.
  • Protect your business from restrictions
If your business operates a social media account, a ban can hurt its digital presence. Years of hard work go down the drain.
Multiple social media accounts combined with residential proxies insulate your business from the effects of bans.
Instagram recently banned social media accounts of businesses due to a breach of community guidelines. If those businesses operated multiple accounts using proxies, the ban will only be a minor stumbling block.
  • Different audiences targeting
The content needs of different customer demographics vary. Your business can impress diverse demographics by dedicating a social media profile to each. This way, it is not caught in the crossfire of diversity issues.
  • One business, multiple hats
A business should have social media accounts for specialized functions.
For instance, your business can have a Facebook page for running ads. Another Facebook page for building a community of potential customers. Then, a third account for managing customer requests.
Multiple accounts help a business stay grounded socially without confusion.

Techniques for Operating Multiple Social Media Accounts

There are various ways to operate many social media accounts for your business. Each approach has its strengths and weaknesses.

I have tried different techniques before opting for Floppydata proxies. Below are the methods:

  1. By Proxy Servers
Operating multiple social media accounts using Floppydata proxy servers is the safest method. These proxies act as a shield between your device and the social media platform. This way, these platforms can’t access your IP address information.
Using these proxies with an anti-detect browser comes with safety and speed. The result is the optimal functioning of your business’s social media profiles.
  2. By VPN
Virtual Proxy Network servers can be used to run several social media profiles for your business.
VPNs encrypt the network of your device. This helps prevent your different social media accounts from being flagged by the platforms.
Unlike Floppydata proxies, VPNs are poor in speed. This can affect the performance of your business’s social media accounts.
The remote servers used by VPN are not secure. The servers are often rented to as many vendors, allowing social media platforms to identify them.
  3. Social Management Tools
You can use tools like Buffer and HootSuite to manage social media accounts. They are great at handling basic tasks within the rules of engagement of the social media platform.
They can take on the role of virtual assistants, but they won’t stop your accounts from getting detected.
For instance, multi-accounting on Facebook is a violation of its community guidelines. These social media management tools won’t take on multiple Facebook profiles.
If you go on to use these tools to operate multiple social media accounts for your business, the social media platforms can easily restrict them.
The best social media management tools for multiple accounts use the same IP addresses to operate multiple accounts. Platforms can ban these accounts whenever a violation is confirmed.
  4. Via Browsers
You can use multiple browsers to access the different social media profiles of your business.
For instance, Google Chrome can be used to manage social media account A. Mozilla’s Firefox can be dedicated to account B, with more browsers designated for other social media accounts.
This same approach can be applied using Chrome profiles. Chrome profile A can be used to operate account A, and profile B can be set aside for running account B.

However, these won’t keep the social media platforms from connecting the dots. The browsers use the same IP address, making them easy to track.

Managing Many Social Media Accounts for Your Business Without a Proxy – Challenges Faced

  • Account Bans
Social media platforms use advanced algorithms to track account activities. Multi-accounting on these platforms without Floppydata proxies flags your account for suspicious activities.
Depending on the gravity of your action, the penalty varies. It can be anything from an ‘action blocked’ error to the account being shadow-banned or completely deactivated/banned.
Worse still, these platforms have customer support managed by AI. This means the likelihood of getting a resolution is slim.
  • Social Assets Loss
When you run multiple social media accounts for your business without proxies, chances are that these accounts will get banned.
Social media platforms have advanced algorithms that link multiple accounts to the same business.
Loss of these social media accounts means your audience and following are gone. Considering how long it takes to build a following on these platforms, it can be quite painful to experience.
  • Automation Becomes Risky
Social media automation tools help businesses handle routine tasks. Yet, their use for running multiple social media accounts gets the attention of the algorithm, and not for a good reason.
If the multi-accounting activities of these automation tools are done from a single IP address, a ‘suspicious activity’ restriction can be expected.
  • Security Challenges
Without proxies, operating multiple accounts for a business exposes them to security threats. Once one account is compromised, the others will follow.

Types of Floppydata Proxies Suitable for Social Media

When running proxies for social media, I discovered that specific types of Floppydata proxies work best. You should avoid using shared proxies with many users.

  • Residential Proxies
Floppydata’s Residential proxies come from real devices in actual homes. The algorithms of social media platforms can’t pick them out. Your Business’s multiple profiles are safer using this proxy type.
  • Mobile Proxies
Their mobile proxies are the best for running multiple social media accounts. The IPs are issued by real 4G and 5G devices, so they never get flagged by the advanced algorithms of these platforms.
With the IPs rotated, Floppydata mobile proxies proved quite effective in operating the many social media accounts of my business.
  • ISP Proxies
Floppydata’s ISP proxies come from internet service providers. The IPs are static, so they don’t change over longer periods. When I used this proxy type for multiple social media accounts, I never experienced any restrictions.
  • Datacenter Proxies
You can also use datacenter proxies to manage several social media accounts for your business.
Floppydata datacenter proxies have excellent speed. I found the low latency helpful in managing the multiple social profiles of my business.
The large pool of IP addresses makes for easy rotation. Some social media platforms failed to track the accounts.
