How to access US TikTok Using Proxies (fail-proof method)

TikTok is a platform that’s highly “geo-fenced,” meaning its algorithm and features are tied to your physical location. Since the most lucrative market for TikTok is the US, many users and creators look for ways to appear as if they are from the US on TikTok.

Whether it’s for higher-paying monetization, TikTok Shop, targeting the US algorithm, to bypass regional restrictions, or for whatever reason you want to access US TikTok, I recommend you use a US proxy to do that.

But how can you get a US proxy, and how can you use it to access TikTok? All these questions are answered in this guide. Let’s get into it.

How to access US TikTok with proxies: step-by-step instructions

Step 1: Obtain your US proxy from Floppydata

To access US TikTok with a proxy, you obviously need a proxy. To obtain one, many proxy providers sell US proxies out there, but not all of them are good. The selection criteria I personally use to find the best provider are:

• The provider must offer ethically sourced proxies
• It must also offer proxy sessions that last as long as possible; we don’t want our IP to jump from LA to NY every 5 minutes!
• It must also offer the cleanest IPs possible with very low fraud scores 
• The provider must have large pool sizes so that I have lower chances of using a “recycled” IP address that someone else has already caused its banning
• And finally, precise geo-targeting that allows me to choose a specific city rather than just “USA”.

The only provider that checked all these boxes for me is Floppydata, and bonus: for a very low price compared to what’s in the market!

Here’s how I get my US proxies from Floppydata:

1. Go to Floppydata and create your account. If you already have an account, just log in.
2. Inside the dashboard, on the left sidebar, click on “Create proxy pool”
3.  Create your proxy pool: give it a name, choose the US as your location, add specific cities if you want, choose your protocol (preferably SOCKS5 or Mobile IPs for TikTok), choose your proxy quantity, and you’re all set. Click on the “Create proxy pool” button when you’re done.

They are all your own. Now, it’s time to use them to access US TikTok, here’s how:

Step 2: Configure your US proxy on your browser 

Here, you have two options:

Either configure your US proxy on your Chrome browser (or any other browser), or configure it on an anti-detect browser like Gologin to hide your fingerprint, stay totally anonymous, and be able to connect to multiple TikTok accounts without getting banned.

Let’s get started with the proxy configuration:

Option 1: Configure your US proxy with Chrome:

Before you start the configuration on Chrome, choose a proxy from your list on Floppydata and copy this information:

• Your proxy Host
• Its Port
• Its Username
• and Password.

Now, open your Chrome browser and follow these steps:

1. Go to your Chrome browser settings by clicking on the three dots at the top right corner then Settings
2. Select System from the left side bar, then click Open your computer’s proxy settings
3. Click Set up
4. In this window, turn the “Use a proxy server” toggle on. Then, paste the proxy host of your IP under “Proxy IP address” and paste its port under “Port”. Click Save when you’re done.
   
5. Now, relaunch Chrome and enter the username and password of your chosen proxy.
   

Once you click Sign in, your Chrome browser will start working with your new US IP address and you’ll be able to connect to the US TikTok successfully!

Option 2: Configure your US proxy with Gologin

1. Go back to your proxy pool list on Floppydata and copy it all at once just by clicking on the Copy proxy list button.
2. Go to Gologin, install it on your device, and create your account.
3. Once inside the Gologin dashboard, click on the hamburger (☰) menu on the top right and select “Proxies”.
   
4. Click import proxies on the top left corner and paste your Floppydata proxy list there. Click on the +Import proxies button, and Gologin will automatically import all your Floppydata proxies.
5. Now, go back to the Gologin dashboard and click Add profile. That’s where you’ll create the browser profile where the US proxy is going to be used to access US TikTok.
6. Under “New Browser Profile”, fill in all the details and choose one of your Floppydata saved proxies to create your browser profile. Click Create Profile when you’re done.
7. Your browser profile will be ready to be used. Just click the green Run button to open it.

How does a US proxy work for TikTok?

Normally, when you open TikTok, its server looks at your connection and says, “This request is coming from an IP address in Paris, so I will show them French content”. 

In the case where you’re using a proxy from the US, then things get different:

1. When you open TikTok, instead of the request going to TikTok, it goes to the proxy server (located, for example, in Los Angeles).
2. The proxy server strips away your real IP address and replaces it with its own US-based IP address
3. The proxy server sends the request to TikTok’s servers on your behalf, acting like a middleman
4. TikTok sees the request coming from Los Angeles instead of your real location, so it thinks you’re a US user and sends back US-specific data (like the US For You page and grants you TikTok Shop access).

Why is a US proxy better than a VPN?

Both proxies and VPNs hide your IP, but VPN is riskier because when using a VPN, you’re accessing TikTok with that VPN’s data center IP address; TikTok knows that people don’t live in data centers, so a connection coming from there is suspicious. Besides, many of these IP addresses are blacklisted anyway, so they’ll be instantly blocked.

Another reason why it’s better to use US proxies is that you can open multiple US TikTok accounts, each with its own unique proxy IP. Whereas when using a VPN, all your TikTok accounts would be using that VPN’s IP address, which is easily flaggable.
